AUD virtual accounts are now live on Due

Key takeaways

Due now supports AUD virtual accounts. If your platform serves customers that need to receive AUD, you can issue each of them dedicated Australian banking details to collect locally via NPP, through one integration.

Who this is for

This fits any platform whose end customers need to receive AUD. That covers a wide range of use cases, including:

  • Marketplaces collecting from sellers in Australia
  • Payment service providers and gateways whose merchants settle in AUD
  • Fintechs onboarding customers that need local AUD collection
  • Payroll and disbursement platforms paying Australian contractors or businesses
  • B2B platforms with Australian customers that need to receive payments locally

Instead of building Australian banking relationships in-house, you integrate once and issue AUD accounts to every customer you onboard.

What it supports

AUD virtual accounts collect through NPP with T+0 settlement.

Each account is unique to the customer you issue it to, so incoming payments attribute automatically with no manual reference matching.

One thing to be aware of: AUD account details are issued under Due's name rather than your customer's company name. Payers will see Due as the account holder on the transfer. If name attribution to the end business is a requirement for your use case, that's worth factoring into your evaluation.

Getting set up

The customer completes standard KYC or KYB first. After approval, your platform requests the AUD virtual account endorsement and supplies any additional information required. Once approved, you create the account through the standard virtual account creation flow.

Full setup details, including the endorsement request and API calls, are in the Due documentation.

One integration for moving money globally

AUD virtual accounts are one piece of what Due does. The same API gives platforms:

  • Local payment rails across 80+ countries, for collecting and paying out in local currencies
  • Stablecoin networks, so you can settle in stablecoins alongside fiat
  • Compliance handled, including KYC/KYB and licensing across markets
  • One integration, instead of stitching together a separate provider per market

AUD joins EUR, GBP, and USD as a virtual account currency on Due. If you need to issue accounts in other currencies, see Named EUR virtual accounts, Named GBP virtual accounts, and USD virtual accounts for business.

Disclaimer: Due is not a bank. Banking services, including AUD account details, are provided by Due's regulated bank partners.
